Career Development Spotlight: Jordan Randel
Operations Manager
December 2025 saw Jordan Randel join C&P Engineering Services as Operations Manager, bringing with him over 12 years of experience across electrical contracting, industrial engineering, and operational leadership roles.
Jordan began his career through an apprenticeship, developing a strong hands-on foundation in electrical and instrumentation engineering. His early experience included control systems, commissioning activities, machinery safety, and site-based engineering work, giving him a practical understanding of engineering delivery from the ground up.
He progressed into engineering and design roles at Hornbill Engineering Ltd, with responsibilities expanded to include project management, client liaison, and team supervision. This allowed Jordan to work on a wide range of projects, from bespoke control panel design and manufacture to international schemes supporting gas turbine validation programmes in America, Argentina, and Uzbekistan.
A promotion to Design Manager, saw Jordan lead multi-disciplinary design and workshop teams, overseeing budgets, resource planning, health and safety compliance, and the delivery of complex control systems. He played a key role in developing engineers, improving internal processes, and ensuring designs met both regulatory and commercial requirements.
2023 saw Jordan promoted to an Operations Manager role. This position saw him providing leadership across multiple framework contracts and major projects spanning energy and utilities, industrial manufacturing and automation, bespoke electrical control panel production, and large-scale installation and maintenance frameworks. His role involved responsibility for operational performance, commercial oversight, financial control, tendering, procurement, contractor management, and continuous improvement.
Jordan holds a BEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (First Class) and an MSc in Engineering Project Management (Distinction), alongside qualifications including Certified Machinery Safety Expert (CMSE) and IOSH Managing Safely.
In his current role at C&P Engineering Services, Jordan is focused on ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to consistently high standards. His responsibilities include leading and supporting project and site teams, overseeing day-to-day operations, managing programmes and budgets, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality requirements, and contributing to sustainable, targeted business growth.
Reflecting on his decision to join C&P and his approach to the role, Jordan says:
